Break rotors are disks that are pinched by the brake pad to stop the car. A bitter rotor is capable of dissipating heat at a greater rate, while poorer rotors do not perform well at this characteristic. Some rotors come slotted which improve the rotors ability to dissipate heat and are generally made of cast iron or ceramic.
